Spooky Doors Halloween Experience
A spellbinding, interactive Halloween adventure, featuring magical characters, riddle-solving, and a spooky clue trail.
For Halloween half-term, we transformed Lakeside Shopping Centre into an enchanting, spooky wonderland with Spooky Doors: The Wizard’s Adventure, a 7-day immersive trick-or-treating experience. Designed and executed by CEP Agency, this magical journey invited families to explore mystical doors, solve riddles, and meet an array of Halloween characters to help restore the Wizard’s magical powers. Kids gathered spell ingredients from each character and enjoyed a thrilling finale with a magical slime bar hosted by the Wizard himself.
Key CEP contributions included:
Designing themed doors and enchanting backdrops for each character.
Organising interactive character encounters and live performances.
Crafting an engaging storyline led by the Wizard and his apprentice, culminating in a magical slime bar experience.

The brief was to create a captivating, Halloween-themed experience that would draw families and children to Lakeside during the half-term break. The aim was to provide an inclusive and magical adventure that encouraged footfall throughout the shopping centre, inviting families to explore, solve riddles, and interact with spooky characters. The experience was designed to foster a sense of wonder and keep participants engaged across multiple stops, ultimately enhancing the Halloween atmosphere at Lakeside.

Visitors to the event enjoyed a variety of Halloween-themed experiences, including:
- Meet the Wizard’s Apprentice: Start the journey at the Slime Bar, where kids receive a cauldron and learn about the stolen Golden Apple—the source of the Wizard’s magical powers. The Apprentice sends them off to collect clues and ingredients from spooky characters.
- Solve Riddles to Find Spooky Doors: Each stop brings kids to a magical door with a character awaiting them, offering riddles, clues, and magical items to help solve the mystery of the missing Golden Apple.
- Collect Ingredients for a Spell: At each character stop, kids receive an ingredient for the Wizard's spell: spiders, fairy wings, googly eyes, and more.
- Engage with Spooky Characters: Encounter Dracula, the Mushroom Fairy, the Pumpkin King, and the Gingerbread Witch, each with their own eerie motive and alibi, adding intrigue to the mystery.
- Discover the Final Clue at the Poison Apple Tree: At the last stop, kids uncover the biggest clue behind a tiny fairy door, leading them back to the Wizard.
- Return to the Wizard for the Grand Finale: Back at the Slime Bar, the Wizard assembles the collected ingredients, performs a spell, and magically creates a new Golden Apple, restoring his powers and ending the adventure.
