The Dino Dig
A hands-on fossil excavation and discovery trail designed to spark curiosity, learning and repeat visits.
Step into Dino Dig — an immersive, family-friendly activation that turns your space into a mini field site for young palaeontologists. Children excavate replica fossils at tactile dig tables, follow a mapped trail of dinosaur window stickers around the centre, and meet a baby dinosaur puppet for unforgettable photo moments. The experience blends play with bite-sized learning to drive dwell time, circulation and shareable content.
What we delivered:
Design & Concept: A cohesive Jurassic look-and-feel that balances high visual impact with simple operations and quick turnarounds. • Clear visitor journey from sign-in to activity to trail to photo moment.
Immersive Zones: Sand-free dig trays with brush-and-reveal tools and embedded replica bones, a Dino Fact Hub with plinths and big, friendly visuals explaining different eras and species, plus a baby velociraptor meet-and-greet for interactive photo moments.
Interactive Trail: Large-format window vinyls displaying themed dinosaur graphics across the centre with trail markers on the map guiding families to each zone. The map included a completion card to encourage full-route circulation and return to base for a small reward.
Live Performers & Hosts: Performer–Puppeteer team to operate the baby dinosaur. Activity hosts to run the dig tables, support queue flow and deliver fun, educational prompts.
Print, Props & Production: Trail maps, signage suite, craft instructions and queue boards. Branded table skirting, themed plinths and tension barriers for safe, tidy presentation.
Event Management: Full delivery from briefing to de-rig, including consumables, optional charity collection, and all RAMS/logistics.
